Biography

Shakira Holt is the Assistant Dean of the USC Dornsife Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. She sees to the day-to-day function of the office and, through guest lecture, workshop delivery, and consultantcy, shares its vision of seamless integration of DEIB values into every aspect of Dornsife’s identity as a world-class scholarly and professional community. She is a veteran K-12 educator, leader, and mentor, and in her 20-plus years in education, gained perspective-shifting experience beyond the classroom as a dean of students and as a district equity officer. She earned both her MA and PhD in English at USC, and is proud to be an active part of the Dornsife community once again.
