Erika Maldonado Singh
B.A., Journalism, San Francisco State University
Erika Maldonado Singh joined the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences in the spring of 2022 as the Associate Director of Alumni Relations. She works to engage alumni with one other and with the college through virtual and in-person opportunities. She produces the monthly webinar series, Dornsife Dialogues, which highlights faculty and alumni sharing insights on timely topics and an alumni-focused career development webinar series. She enjoys supporting regional events and interacting with alumni returning to campus for fun events like picnics, student mentoring, and happy hours.
Prior to joining Alumni Relations, Erika spent seven years working with the nonpartisan USC Center for the Political Future, working closely with students to encourage political participation and community partners to bring political experts to engage with the university. Before that, she worked as a journalist producing daily news for Los Angeles’ longest running public affairs show, AirTalk with Larry Mantle.
Favorite USC Memory
My favorite USC memory is participating in my first Day of SCervice with nearly 50 alumni and their families in March 2023. Our group volunteered at the Community Action Partnership of Orange County in Garden Grove and assembled more than 1,000 boxes of food for families in need. Everyone arrived early on a Saturday morning eager to help and it was so rewarding to see alumni of all ages and abilities working together for an important mission.
Favorite Spot on Campus
My favorite spot is Wallis Annenberg Hall. The large screen with breaking news, the energy of students walking through, and the nearby newsroom makes it a fun place to focus on work while I’m on campus. Or to catch up with a colleague near the cafe. I love being able to find a nook to work inside or enjoy some sunshine at a table outside.
