Biography

I am an Associate Teaching Professor of Writing in the Thematic Options Honors Program, with a focus on supporting the development of first year writing and research in the humanities. Recent course themes include “How to Do Nothing” and exploring Los Angeles through exploring genre. My background is in creative writing, poetry specifically—I received my M.F.A. in Poetry from UC Irvine. I have experience as an editor of creative journals, and currently oversee Palaver Arts Magazine, a USC student publication. I publish critically and creatively in the world of poetry. My current projects concern the role of metaphor in the writings of Julian of Norwich and parenting amid climate catastrophe.
