Biography

Stephanie Sweet-Eggert has been part of the USC Physical Education Mind Body Health Department since 2012. She has taught ten different courses over her tenure and is one of the most versatile instructors in the department. Applied creative and energetic techniques for increased positive mental and physical health are the cornerstone of her classes. Students have found tremendous life-improvement with various meditations that break addictions, improve energy, and help with mental clarity, focus, and creativity.

The development of the course, “Work-life Balance – Blueprint for Vitality,” (MDA 300) gives students practical tools using quantum energy practices to experience their optimum health, creativity, clarity and overall energy. She introduced the Kundalini Yoga and Meditation curriculum at USC in 2016. This course is part of the Mind-Body Minor. Students consistently re-take this class for the vast transformational experience. Current research with the Children’s Hospital of Los Angles has revealed significant results showing that a Kundalini Yoga & Meditation education and practice increased students’ health outcomes on several measures.

In May 2023, she co-led the Maymester to India, where the class visited and stayed at sacred sites, studied Kundalini yoga, meditation, and ayurvedic practices. Meditating on the 84 steps at Gowindwal and meeting His Holiness the Dalia Lama were some of the highlights of this once-in-a-lifetime course.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Loyola University in Baltimore, MD and captaining the Top-10 Nationally ranked Women’s Lacrosse team, Sweet-Eggert she played for the United States National Team. She was a nationally ranked half-ironman triathlete, and began her coaching career at Duke University, another college lacrosse powerhouse. After several years of coaching and teaching at Duke, she later received her M.S. in Kinesiology & Sport Psychology, where her research focused on Flow States, the mental benefits of yoga, and the mental attitudes of female athletes. She continues to coach elite athletes physically, and mentally with holistic yogic technology to support peak performance.

Stephanie has co-published research on female athletes and frequently contributes to news and publications on health, wellness, yoga, and meditation. Her travels have extended to Nepal, Tibet, Scotland, India, China, New Zealand, Egypt, and other power-points throughout the world. She is constantly experiencing, applying, and studying how yogic technology can continually enhance our lives in these every-changing times. Meditation retreats, paddling to Catalina and summitting Mt. Whitney are some of the other adventures she’s enjoyed over the past few years.
