Sustainability: Human Factors

RESEARCH SPOTLIGHT

Effective technology is available to move the needle on sustainability. The challenge is to implement these solutions quickly and at scale.

That’s why USC Dornsife is thinking differently. Our researchers explore how to overcome the economic, political, and psychological challenges that stand in the way of a sustainable future.

Imagine completing your basic language requirement in Rome…

Welcome to our Rome Maymester!

After studying ITAL 120 in the fall and ITAL 150 on campus in the spring, this year’s 24 Maymester students completed their basic language requirement while living with Italian families and attending USC Dornsife classes at LUMSA, a private Italian university. In addition to organized events and excursions to Florence and Venice, students were able to personalize their journeys and make Rome their own, to share with friends and family for years to come.

For details on the 2025 Rome Maymester (ITAL 220), the two-unit internship with Italian owned & operated businesses in Los Angeles (partnered with the Italian Chamber of Commerce), the 2025 Venice Maymester (ITAL 240, 250, 260) OR pursuing an Italian minor or major, contact our Director of Italian Basic Language James M. Fortney.
