USC students, alumni, and staff who are interested in going to law school can take part in events and services offered by the Pre-Law Program at USC Dornsife College. Students can consult one-on-one with academic advisors in the USC Dornsife Office of Advising who specialize in this area. Pre-law advisors assist current USC students in crafting an undergraduate academic program designed to lead to law school admission and assist alumni on an as needed basis regarding their candidacy. Pre-law advisors specifically aid in all aspects of the law school application process, including law school selection, how to write an effective personal statement, how to request appropriate letters of recommendation, and providing guidance in academic and non-academic opportunities.
Pre-law advisors help students target the most appropriate law schools, put students in contact with pre-law organizations and volunteer opportunities, and notify students of relevant pre-law and law-related events. Each semester we also strive to host a variety of workshops and events geared to prepare our students for success in the admissions process. Services and events provided by the Pre-law Program include
Annual Law School Fair - The Best Law Fair in Southern California
Law School Personal Statement & Resume
Pre-law Workshops
Brown bag Series - Small group discussion sessions led by current USC Gould School of Law students
One-on-one Advising
In addition, USC Law student interns are on staff to help students navigate the law school admissions process, review law school personal statement essays, and advise students on deciding whether if law school is right for them.
