Pre-Graduate School

Pre-Graduate School Advising serves all current students and alumni at the University of Southern California who are considering graduate school.  We offer a wide variety of advising services to guide students through the academic and administrative processes necessary to achieve their goals. The Pre-Graduate School Advisors support students on an individualized basis because we know that reasons for going to graduate school just like the programs available are unique to each person’s goals.

During students’ tenure at USC, the pre-grad advisors guide students towards pre-graduate activities such as undergraduate research under the guidance of faculty mentors, and finding scholarships to support summer or semester-long research.

We also hold a series of workshops in the Fall and Spring semesters that deal with the ins-and-outs- of the application process, including writing the statement of purpose vs. the personal statement; C.V. or résumé, funding your graduate school education, asking for letters of recommendation, and more.

Pre-Graduate School Advising emphasizes the importance of personal and professional growth, and encourages students to understand that success is up to you, but we can provide some helpful tools to carving out the path to your dreams.
