7th Street Metro Center

Seventh and Figueroa

The Seventh Street Metro Center is the confluence of the Red and Blue transit lines, the former heading to Hollywood and Union Station, and the latter heading to Long Beach. Above it lies the Home Savings Tower, built in 1988-1989 by Albert C. Martin and Associates. The 28-story 260,000 square foot post-modernist high-rise resembles turn of the century New York versions of the French Chateauesque style. A ceiling mural, painted by Terry Schoonhoven (1991), just inside the entrance at Seventh and Figueroa, is a must-see.
