Briggs currently studies the relation of attitudes towards gender and attitudes towards the Jewish Torah in the writings of Paul, the first-century apostle. Other projects focuses on an ancient past that never happened except in the imagination of contemporary popular culture, such as the TV series Xena Warrior Princess.
