Applicants will be considered for the KCM Undergraduate Grant Program, the Cathy and George Huber Endowed Scholarship, and additional awards. <\/p>\n<p><b>Applications for our 2026 Environmental Summer Awards are now open. The priority deadline is 11:59 p.m. PT on March 1, 2026.<\/b> After March 1, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with decisions issued every 1-4 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n          <\/div>\n    \n      <div class=\"links-container\">\n        \n            \n<div class=\"f--field f--link\">\n\n    \n    \n  \n<a \n  class=\"link\"\n  href= https:\/\/usc.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_2soVPQXrrkJSJkG\n  target=\"_blank\"  aria-label=\"Read more about Apply Now\"  \n>\n    Apply Now \n  <svg version=\"1.1\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" x=\"0px\" y=\"0px\" viewBox=\"0 0 35 35\" enable-background=\"new 0 0 35 35\" width=\"25\" height=\"25\" xml:space=\"preserve\"><polygon fill-rule=\"evenodd\" clip-rule=\"evenodd\" fill=\"#FC0\" points=\"19.3,27.5 29.3,17.5,19.3,7.5 16.3,10.4 21.4,15.4 6.7,15.4 6.7,19.6 21.4,19.6 16.3,24.6 \"\/><\/svg>\n<\/a>\n\n\n<\/div>\n          <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n\n  <\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n  \n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div\n  class=\"cc--component-container cc--rich-text \"\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  >\n  <div class=\"c--component c--rich-text\"\n    \n      >\n\n    \n      \n<div class=\"f--field f--wysiwyg\">\n\n    \n  <p>Environmental Summer Awards are intended to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Offset the costs of summer co-curricular programs OR<\/li>\n<li>Enable participation in unpaid or underpaid internships and similar hands-on summer experiences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Students should independently identify specific opportunities in advance of applying to an award.<\/strong> Opportunities must focus on the environment or sustainability and on students&#8217; professional development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligible Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following kinds of experiences are eligible for Environmental Summer Award applications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Environment- or sustainability-related research\/internship positions with USC faculty (minimum 50 total work hours recommended)<\/li>\n<li>External internships &#8211; with government agencies, NGOs, companies, etc. &#8211; that provide professional development for environmental careers (minimum 50 total work hours recommended)<\/li>\n<li>Participation in summer research at the <a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/wrigley\/research\/wrigley-marine-science-center-wmsc\/\">Wrigley Marine Science Center<\/a> on Catalina Island<\/li>\n<li>Travel or housing expenses required to attend training workshops or to present at professional or scientific meetings or conferences (costs may not exceed $1,000)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Award Amounts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The average award amount is $1,000, up to a maximum of $3,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicant Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These awards are open to USC Environmental Studies Program majors and minors, select graduate students, and students participating in Wrigley Institute programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/usc.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_2soVPQXrrkJSJkG\">Apply Now &gt;&gt;\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n  <\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":617,"featured_media":0,"parent":713,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5605","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.1.1 -
