Leah Shore, M.S., is the Communications Manager at USC Sea Grant. Leading the team’s communications, her work is centered around conveying the program’s marine science research, education, and outreach efforts across a broad range of audiences. She manages the communication strategies and materials across projects and digital platforms, as well as serves as the primary science writer.

Ms. Shore specializes in science communication, especially aimed at bridging the gap between science and application. Previously she worked as the Climate Assessment Specialist for the Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program, a NOAA Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments team. Her work focused on the assessment of stakeholder risk and vulnerability to extreme weather and climate events, and how the use of climate hazard data can better meet the needs of users in decision-making and adaptation efforts across the South Central United States. Ms. Shore holds a Master’s in Climate Change and Society from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma.
