class=\"c--component c--rich-text\"\n    \n      >\n\n    \n      \n<div class=\"f--field f--wysiwyg\">\n\n    \n  <p>USC Dornsife offers an opportunity for students from across the campus to combine internship experience with classroom reflection.\u00a0 Students find their own internship placements, often with the help of the USC Career Center, and sign up for a two-unit course, MDA 250, Internship for the Liberal Arts: Work and Career &#8212; Theory and Practice.\u00a0 Over the summer, a one-unit version of the course is offered.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MDA 250 is a letter graded course and may not be taken for audit.\u00a0 Students may elect to take the course on a pass\/no grading scale as long as the student does not exceed 24 units of undergraduate coursework taken as P\/NP, and the course is not used to fulfill a major or minor requirement.\u00a0 Students should consult with their academic advisor prior to selecting a P\/NP grade for this course.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Students enrolled in MDA 250 are expected to work a minimum of eight hours per week as an intern.\u00a0 The course can be retaken in subsequent semesters or summer sessions for a maximum of four units.\u00a0 Students who are required to complete MDA 250 for their major are required to have an internship related to the major.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Students who take the course as part of their <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ois.usc.edu\/employment\/employment-f1\/cpt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: maroon;\">Curricular Practical\u00a0Training (CPT)<\/span><\/a><\/strong> requirement must earn a passing grade.\u00a0 Failure to do so will make the student ineligible to obtain CPT in the future.\u00a0 Additionally, international students may not begin working until the processed CPT I-20 has been received from OIS.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uscdornsife.usc.edu\/secure\/mda\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: maroon;\">Summer 2026 d-clearance requests<\/span><\/strong><\/a> will be accepted until Friday, May 29, 2026.\u00a0 Students registered in the course are expected to start working by Monday, June 1.\u00a0 In coordination with <a href=\"https:\/\/ois.usc.edu\/employment\/employment-f1\/cpt\/#CPT%20Application%20Process\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/ois.usc.edu\/employment\/employment-f1\/cpt\/#CPT%20Application%20Process\"><strong><span style=\"color: maroon;\">OIS guidelines<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, students needing CPT should request d-clearance at least four business days before their first day of work. \u00a0The last day to register for MDA 250 is on Monday, June 1. \u00a0Requests for late adds are not accepted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fall 2026 d-clearances will be available mid-June.\u00a0 Inquiries about the course may be directed to <a href=\"mailto:mvelasqu@usc.edu\"><strong><span
