Important Information About Writing 150 and Writing 340 Enrollment for Fall 2026. Please review the following enrollment policies and registration information carefully.<\/p>\n

Writing 150
\nWeeks 1-2
\n\u2022\tInstructors cannot approve enrollment in sections that have reached the maximum capacity of 15 students.
\n\u2022\tStudents may not attend or sit in on a class unless they are officially registered.
\n\u2022\tContinue monitoring WebReg and register immediately if a seat becomes available. There is no waitlist for any of our WRIT 150 sections.
\n\u2022\tDuring the first two weeks of the semester, students may move between available Writing 150 sections without instructor approval.
\n\u2022\tAll Writing 150 sections are capped at 15 students, no exceptions.

\nWeek 1
\n\u2022\tInstructors cannot approve enrollment in sections that have reached the maximum capacity of 19 students.
\n\u2022\tStudents may not attend or sit in on a class unless they are officially registered.
\n\u2022\tContinue monitoring WebReg and register immediately if a seat becomes available. The waitlist form will not be available until Week 2 on August 31st at 9am.
\n\u2022\tAll Writing 340 sections are capped at 19 students, with no exceptions.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022\tStudents seeking enrollment in Writing 340 should complete the waitlist form. Please see Week 2 on our website:

\n The waitlist excludes WRIT 340 Advanced Writing for Business and
\n Advanced Writing Communication for Engineers sections.
\n\u2022\tDue to limited availability, priority will be given to seniors graduating in Fall 2026.
\n\u2022\tAll Special Topics Dornsife Writing 340 sections are full. Faculty have reached the enrollment cap of 19 students per section, and additional seats will not be added.

\nAll Writing Courses: Week 3
\nBecause of the sequential nature of the writing curriculum and the workshop-based format of these courses, students who enter a Writing section after the second week are at a significant disadvantage.
\nAs a result, requests to add a Writing course during the third week of the semester are most often denied.

\nRegistration Recommendations for Future Semesters
\n\u2022\tInstructions for requesting D-clearance for special topics courses were posted in the Schedule of Classes and WebReg when the Fall 2026 schedule was published in March. Students began requesting clearance at that time, and sections filled quickly.
\n\u2022\tSubmit D-clearance requests for special topics courses as early as possible, regardless of your registration appointment time.
\n\u2022\tFaculty do not have access to students’ registration appointments and review requests based on factors such as course fit, application materials, or a first-come, first-served process.
\n\u2022\tBecause D-clearance processing takes time, early requests increase the likelihood that approved students will receive authorization before their registration window opens.
