The Writing Program does not use the add\/drop form. Professors are not able to add you to their sections.<\/p>\n

Given the nature of the writing curriculum and the workshop format of the class, joining a Writing section after the second week of the semester places a student at a severe disadvantage in terms of the goals and requirements of the course. For this reason, requests to add writing during the third week are usually denied. On the basis of extraordinary circumstances, a student may initiate an exception request; such requests require administrative approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n <\/div>\n \n

To establish the foundation in academic writing, critical reading, and analytic thinking that is expected at the college level, USC\u2019s general education program requires at least two courses in composition. Most students entering USC fulfill this through Writing and Critical Reasoning (WRIT 150), and Advanced Writing (WRIT 340).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n <\/div>\n \n
