The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at USC Dornsife explores Russian language and literature with the goal of expanding our understanding of contemporary society.

Led by faculty who produce new insights on literature, film, philosophy, literary theory, art, and dance, the department trains students in the vast complexity of the region’s cultural output. With small class sizes, expert language instruction in both Russian and Polish, study abroad opportunities, and an innovative Language Lab, students have ample opportunities to more deeply understand this region that is so important on the world stage.
