The Department of Comparative Literature at USC Dornsife comprises a diverse community of experts who expand our understanding of Western and non-Western literatures and cultures. Scholars wrestle with the vast complexity of the world’s cultural output — from feminist and queer theory to political thought and postcolonial studies and everything in between. Students have the opportunity to build unique research paths that cross-pollinate with other areas of specialization and grow expertise that help them make better sense of the world by reading and interpreting complex ideas with a critical eye.
