curiosity into global impact <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When\u00a0Yingyi Lin completed her Ph.D. in Population, Health, and Place, she went directly to work at the Gates Foundation, starting as a Research Scientist and then as a Senior Officer. Two years of the USC funding package are fellowship years (no work requirements), and for three years students work as graduate teaching assistants or research assistants. In addition, students are encouraged to apply for external funding, and the program gives support to prepare competitive applications.
