This USGIF certification indicates our students have graduated from academic programs that comply with the highest standards for GEOINT curriculum, faculty expertise, novel research approaches and the availability of adequate resources for state-of-the-art teaching and learning in GEOINT disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>Nine SSI students have won prestigious <a href=\"https:\/\/usgif.org\/scholarship-program\/\">USGIF scholarships and awards<\/a>, including the $10,000 RGi Scholarship for Geospatial and Engineering, the $10,000 Ken Miller Scholarship for Advanced Remote Sensing Applications and the Golden Ticket (the USGIF young professional award).<\/p>\n<p>COL [R] Steven D. Fleming, adjunct professor of the practice of spatial sciences; Darren M. These faculty are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/spatial\/profile\/ryan-mcalinden\/\">Ryan McAlinden<\/a>, adjunct assistant professor of the practice of spatial sciences and director of defense and intelligence programs for the USC Institute of Creative Technologies;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/spatial\/profile\/yi-qi\/\">Yi Qi<\/a>, associate professor (teaching) of spatial sciences;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/spatial\/profile\/darren-m-ruddell\/\">Darren M. Ruddell<\/a>, professor (teaching) of spatial sciences;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/spatial\/profile\/diana-ter-ghazaryan\/\">Diana Ter-Ghazaryan<\/a>, associate professor (teaching) of spatial sciences; and<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/spatial\/profile\/john-p-wilson\/\">John P. Lamy<\/a>, Ph.D., professor emeritus of international relations and spatial sciences, chairs the Global Security Studies Program Board.<\/p>\n<p>Faculty and professional advisors, contributors and speakers to the GSEC Program include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/spatial\/profile\/gregory-f-treverton\/\">Gregory F. Ruddell<\/a>, professor (teaching) of spatial sciences, and <a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/spatial\/profile\/diana-ter-ghazaryan\/\">Diana Ter-Ghazaryan<\/a>, associate professor (teaching) of spatial sciences, are addressing this current shortage in HSGI training and education.
