  • September 6<\/strong>: Presentation by John on mixing and cut-off phenomena for Markov chains on certain  non-Abelian groups.<\/li>\n
  • \n

    September 13<\/strong>: Presentation by Austin on the Kelly criterion and related topics in gambling\/investing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    September 20<\/strong>: No meeting (an off week).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    September 27<\/strong>: Presentation by Ujan on the first passage percolation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    October 4 and 11<\/strong>: Presentation by Apoorva on nonlinear SPDEs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    October 18<\/strong>: No meeting (Fall recess).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    October 25<\/strong>: Presentation by John on mixing in the top-to-random shuffle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    November 8<\/strong>: Austin (preparation for the oral exam).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    November 15<\/strong>: Presntation by Ujan on limits of random graphs and existence of a giant component.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    November 22<\/strong>: Presntation by John on coupling and applications to convergence of Markov chains.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    November 29<\/strong>: No meeting (Thanksgiving Break).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
