    August 25<\/strong>: Introduction and plans for the semester.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    September 1<\/strong>: Presentation by Phonsom on analytical theory of stochastic parabolic equations with a non-local evolution operator (in preparation for the oral exam).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    September 8<\/strong>: Presentation by Ujan on the method of stochastic approximation in the study of generalized urn models.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    September 15<\/strong>: Presentation by Alperen on partial ordering of integer partitions. Bottom line: two typical partitions of a large number are usually not comparable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    September 22 and 29<\/strong>: Presentations by Hyun-Jung about KPZ universality.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    October 6<\/strong>: Chukiat’s oral exam (with full success).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    October 13<\/strong>: Presentation by Jian on statistical inference in second-order auto-regressions with dependent noise.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    October 20<\/strong>: A discussion of possibilities for summer schools and workshops in 2018, with contributions from all.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    October 27<\/strong>: Presentation by Ujan on discrete-space Gaussian free fields.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    November 3<\/strong>: Presentation by Ujan on the first-passage percolation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    November 10<\/strong>: Presentation by Alperen on mixing rates for certain Markov chains on the symmetric group.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    November 17<\/strong>: Presentation by Hyun-Jung on the parabolic Anderson model (practice defence)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
