Mission Statement:\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The USC Department of Psychology seeks to create a fair, just, transparent, and welcoming culture across all of its functions, including teaching, mentoring, research, training, and interactions among students, post-docs, staff, and faculty.<\/p>\n

We uphold the values of the American Psychological Association for\u00a0\u201can accessible, equitable, and inclusive psychology that promotes human rights, fairness, and dignity for all<\/i>.\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

C<\/span>ommittee on L<\/span>eadership In M<\/span>ulticultural A<\/span>dvancement & T<\/span>raining for E<\/span>veryone (CLIMATE)<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Committee on Leadership In Multicultural Advancement & Training for Everyone (CLIMATE) was created to see our values actualized in our curriculum, teaching, research, and program culture. CLIMATE aims to ensure that the processes by which we recruit, mentor, and train students are fair and transparent. We also seek to host events, disseminate resources, and lead discussions that promote a sense of belongingness within our department. Additionally, we strive to encourage our students, faculty, and staff to grow in their understanding of issues related to community, culture, accountability, and harm reduction.<\/p>\n

CLIMATE is organized around three primary aims, which are supported by both faculty and student leads.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Curriculum and Training:<\/span><\/strong> Improve the integration of effective practices and broad perspectives into our departments\u2019 graduate curriculum, teaching, and research training<\/li>\n
  2. Retention and Community:<\/span><\/strong> Advance practices and policies that promote an environment in which all students, staff, and faculty in our department can thrive<\/li>\n
  3. Recruitment:<\/span><\/strong> Continue to increase the reach and transparency of recruitment processes in our department<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n <\/div><\/div>\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
