We use the tools of particle phenomenology, astrophysics theory, and numerical computation, as applied to a wide variety of observational data sets.<\/p>\n<p>Group Web Site:\u00a0\u00a0<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/usc-cosmolab.github.io\/cosmolab-site-v2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CosmoLab<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<em>(Currently looking for PhD students)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Astrophysics<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Astrophysics group works primarily in helioseismology and stellar astrophysics. This work includes both developing foundational theory for understanding experiments as well as data acquisition and reduction principally at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/physics.usc.edu\/solar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>60-foot solar tower on Mt. Wilson<\/strong><\/a>. This group can also provide the opportunity of collaborative research with scientists at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/obs.carnegiescience.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Carnegie Observatories<\/strong><\/a>. Members of this group include Professors <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/profile\/james-bullock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Bullock<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/profile\/edward-rhodes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Edward Rhodes<\/strong><\/a> and Professor Emeriti <a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/profile\/geraldine-peters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Geraldine Pete<\/strong><strong>rs<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Theoretical Cosmology<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The theoretical cosmology group at USC is interested in a variety of scienitific issues including dark matter and dark energy models, the early Universe, cosmological parameter determination, data analysis and interpretation. The group offers the opportunity of collaborative research with scientists at the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jpl.nasa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jet Propulsion Laboratory<\/a><\/strong> on current and future space missions.
