Isaac will begin a 10-month Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in the Czech Republic.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maygol Kabiri<\/strong>\u00a0studied in Madrid, Spain in 2014 and graduated in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies. She will serve as an English Teaching Assistant in Spain.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kyle Roux<\/strong>\u00a0studied in London, England at Queen Mary University, London in 2013. He will graduate in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in\u00a0Biological Sciences and a minor in Classics. Kyle is one of eleven students nationally to win the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Greece.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Olivia Trombadore<\/strong>\u00a0studied in Florence, Italy in 2014 and graduated May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in Environmental Studies. \u00a0Olivia won a Fulbright research grant to India where she will determine if certain communities along the Ganges River are disproportionately impacted by water pollution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Past Recipients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Helen Anne Kennedy<\/strong>\u00a0studied in Cape Town, South Africa in 2015 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (Glboal Business). Anne will be a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Laos.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Marie McCoy-Thompson<\/strong>\u00a0studied in Cape Town, South Africa in 2014 and in Paris, France in 2015. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Narrative Studies, with minors in both French and Marketing. Marie is the recipient of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Thailand.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Martha Ryan<\/strong>\u00a0studied in Delhi, India in 2015. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Global Health. Martha is the recipient of a Fulbright research grant where she will investigate how anti-stigma interventions can be adapted to culturally diverse red light areas in India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tiffany Yang<\/strong>\u00a0studied in Bilbao, Spain in 2010 and graduated with a major in comparative literature, and a minor in Spanish in 2011. Tiffany will spend her Fulbright year teaching English to secondary school students in South Korea. \u00a0Combining her passion for English, writing, and literature, Tiffany will spend her time outside of the classroom leading English communication and creative writing workshops for the local community.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lydia Green<\/strong>\u00a0studies in Ghana in Fall 2009 and completed a bachelor\u2019s in linguistics in May 2009. She received a Fulbright to study in the United Kingdom. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in linguistics at the University of Newcastle in Australia. Green will also pursue a master\u2019s degree in language documentation and description at the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies as preparation for her doctoral research in endangered languages. As part of her studies, she will research language loss in the endangered-language community of Logba, Ghana.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dawn Powell<\/strong>\u00a0spent Spring 2009 in Bahia and graduated from USC with a major in international relations and a minor in Spanish. She will spend her Fulbright year in Brazil quantitatively evaluating China\u2019s impact on various sectors of the Brazilian economy. Her project will consist of coursework at the Universidade Est\u00e1cio de S\u00e1 and independent research with the China-Brazil Business Council.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clara Suh,<\/strong>\u00a0who studied in Berlin in Spring 2009, received a bachelor\u2019s degree in public policy, management and planning with a minor in German. She will spend her Fulbright year teaching English to elementary school children in the Republic of Korea.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jeanette Acosta\u00a0<\/strong>received her B.A. degree in Political Science with a minor in Psychology. She will spend a year Mexico examining how student scholarships influence their decision to pursue education or migration. She is particularly interested in exploring the attitudes and behaviors of students towards continuing their education, employment and migration in Zacatecas, Mexico. In Spring 2007, she studied at USC Madrid.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chelsea Laun<\/strong>\u00a0earned a B.A. in English and Communication and spent Spring 2008 at Queen Mary University of London. A recipient of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grant to Thailand, Chelsea pursued opportunities to become involved in volunteer organizations working on the Burmese refugee crisis in addition to teaching English during her Fulbright year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brittney Bailey\u00a0<\/strong>received a\u00a0Bachelor of Arts, International Relations\/Spanish and studied abroad at USC Madrid and in S\u00e3o Paulo. She\u00a0spent\u00a0her Fulbright year in Col\u00f3mbia, conducting a project entitled, \u201cEsperanza Negra: Multicultural Education Initiatives in Colombia\u201d that combined coursework at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogot\u00e1 with a research project investigating the implementation of an Afro-Colombian perspective into the university curriculum.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nichole Hornig<\/strong>, a double major in\u00a0American Studies and Ethnicity and Spanish who spent Spring 2007 at USC Madrid, was\u00a0awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grant in Spain. In addition to teaching English as a Second Language, she conducted a research project involving the study of language acquisition in children before the age of Boren Graduate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iie.org\/scholarships-programs\/\">Fellowship and Undergraduate Scholarship<\/a> provide support to study abroad in in countries of stategic national security interest to the U.S. \u00a0Fellowships and Scholarships can be applied to study in programs in all countries and regions EXCEPT Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Western Europe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recent Recipients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sooji Nam\u00a0<\/strong>is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and International Relations. \u00a0She is \u00a0studying in South Korea on the Boren Scholarship.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Colin Conwell<\/strong>\u00a0studied in Paris, France in 2014 and is a double major in International Relations and Cognitive Science with a minor in Comparative Literature. Through the African Flagship Languages Initiative (AFLI) at the University of Florida, Colin will begin an intensive study of French and Wolof this summer. In the fall, Colin will relocate to Dakar, Senegal to continue language study through November of 2015. Colin\u2019s academic interest lies at the intersection of international security, psychology and comparative literature. Upon graduation, Colin hopes to fulfill his Boren government service requirement as an analyst or field agent of an intelligence collection agency such as the DIA or CIA.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alexis Dale-Huang<\/strong>\u00a0is double majoring in International Relations (Global Business) and East Asian Languages &amp; Cultures. She spent nine months in China studying in both Beijing and Shanghai. Alexis will honed her Mandarin skills and examined China\u2019s political ideologies, economic interests, and cultural practices to understand China\u2019s perspective in international affairs.
