I had wanted to study abroad since middle school, and when I finally got the chance in college, I chose to go to Bilbao – and I chose right. Bilbao is a great destination for anyone culturally or linguistically minded. Located in the Basque Country, you’ll be immersed in what are essentially two cultures at once: Spanish and Basque.

Don’t be afraid to explore within Spain and the Basque Country. Many students opt to study  in Madrid, but I would urge you to take another look at Bilbao. I’m convinced that Bilbao is a more unique experience, especially for language and culture lovers.
