Training for our Olympians and Paralympians starts years before the opening ceremony. Jill McNitt-Gray, a professor of biological sciences and biomedical engineering at USC, works with elite athletes and their coaches to study how sprinters and horizontal jumpers generate speed and use speed in their events. Jeff Henderson, who won gold in long jump was trained by their team.
