Her research on mud volcanoes near the Mariana Trench focuses on understanding how serpentinization-derived volatiles, such as H<sub>2<\/sub>, CH<sub>4<\/sub>, and H<sub>2<\/sub>S can support microbial communities that live deep within Earth\u2019s crust.
