\n KSI Undergraduate Research Fellows Program<\/a>\n <\/h3>\n\n\n<\/div>\n \n \n
\n\n \n

The KSI Undergraduate Research Fellows Program selects outstanding USC students who are interested in conducting research about Korea or Korean-American issues, writing a research paper, and gaining experience presenting at academic conferences.<\/p>\n

Selected students register in KSI 399, an advanced undergraduate student research seminar, during the fall semester and participate in monthly workshop meetings during the spring semester in preparation for the presentation of their work at the annual Joint Undergraduate Exchange Conference with the University of Michigan and the University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n\n\n \n \n \n

The annual Korean Studies Undergraduate Research Exchange Conference brings together exceptional and motivated students from the University of Southern California, the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and the University of Pennsylvania to present their research on Korean studies. We hosted the 2026 Exchange Conference on March 27-28, 2026 in a new expanded format with UPenn joining as a new partner. Every spring, the USC Korean Studies Institute celebrates the achievements of KSI Undergraduate Research Fellows. In addition to taking a look at the past year and the accomplishments of our fellows, we also honor the seniors of the year’s cohort as they go on to achieve even greater things. \n KSI Summer Study Abroad Grant<\/a>\n <\/h3>\n\n\n<\/div>\n \n \n
\n\n \n

KSI provides a summer study abroad grant to students enrolled in EASC 360: Global East Asia (GEA) for South Korea. This Maymester program, offered by the East Asian Studies Center and USC Dornsife, is a four week upper-division research course with a study abroad component. The intensive program gives students the opportunity to travel and conduct research in one of East Asian countries. Students from all majors, schools and language backgrounds are eligible to apply. The grant amount can vary depending on the actual travel cost. The Global East Asia South Korea Program will launch for summer of 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n\n\n \n \n \n
