{"id":197,"date":"2023-11-16T09:16:43","date_gmt":"2023-11-16T17:16:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/live-usc-dornsife.pantheonsite.io\/johnstrauss\/?page_id=197"},"modified":"2023-11-29T11:15:11","modified_gmt":"2023-11-29T19:15:11","slug":"edcc","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/johnstrauss\/edcc\/","title":{"rendered":"Economic Development and Cultural Change"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n  \n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div\n  class=\"cc--component-container cc--rich-text \"\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  >\n  <div class=\"c--component c--rich-text\"\n    \n      >\n\n    \n      \n<div class=\"f--field f--wysiwyg\">\n\n    \n  <p>A multidisciplinary journal of development economics, <a title=\"Economic Development and Cultural Change\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jstor.org\/action\/showPublication?journalCode=econdevecultchan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Economic Development and Cultural Change<\/em><\/a> publishes studies using modern theoretical and empirical approaches that examine both determinants and effects of various dimensions of economic development and cultural change.<\/p>\n<p>The focus of <em>EDCC<\/em> is on publishing empirical, scientifically based studies that use appropriate data to test theoretical models and to explore policy impacts related to a broad range of topics within the field of economic development. <em>EDCC<\/em> is fundamentally interested in exploring what scientific evidence can tell us about policy issues related to economic development. <em>EDCC<\/em> publishes both papers with new insights as well as carefully executed replications that explore the robustness of results to different data, diverse model specifications, or ways of estimation.<\/p>\n<p><em>EDCC<\/em> seeks articles that address:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>basic economic factors associated with development, including technological change, human resource investments, and economic incentives;<\/li>\n<li>noneconomic factors and their interrelationships with economic factors in affecting development and being changed by development;<\/li>\n<li>data quality-comparing the results of different methods to collect data and define variables for testing of behavior and for policy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-198 alignleft\" src=\"\/johnstrauss\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/341\/2023\/11\/edcc.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"339\" \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n  <\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":584,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"page-content-detail.php","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-197","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.1.1 -
