We are particularly interested in how disease-associated genetic mutations alter synaptic function, neuronal communication, brain circuit activity, and behavior. To address these questions, we integrate molecular biology, mouse genetics, biochemistry, optogenetics, electrophysiology, in vivo and ex vivo imaging, and high-resolution behavioral analysis.<\/p>\n<p>We combine these experimental approaches with advanced computational methods to identify synaptic and neuronal dysfunction, quantify behaviorally relevant brain activity, and define changes in neural population coding and circuit connectivity.
