A revelatory, nuanced debut, CE Shue\u2019s Bridge of Knots<\/em> weaves together meditations on marriage, motherhood, art-making, and the complexities of Asian American identity in pandemic-era San Francisco. Grappling with revelations from her past, Shue\u2019s narrator depicts \u201clife as a collage\u201d as she reconciles \u201cwhat we choose and what we make of what we choose\u201d with memories the body holds. Written in an associative, impressionistic style that has drawn comparisons to Jenny Offill\u2019s Dept. of Speculation <\/em>and Chet\u2019la Sebree\u2019s Field Study,<\/em> Shue\u2019s narrative, at once intimate and international, is attuned to the knots that hold communities, families, and selves together across time and geography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n\n\n \n \n \n

AUTHOR<\/strong><\/p>\n

C.E. Shue holds an MFA from the University of San Francisco and has been published in Drunken Boat<\/em>, Entropy<\/em>, Washington Square<\/em>, Sparkle & Blink<\/em>, Flash Fiction Review<\/em>, Paragraph<\/em>, E*Ratio<\/em>, Spiral Orb<\/em>, Lumina<\/em>, Storyscape<\/em>, The Satirist<\/em>, flock<\/em>, Poet As Radio<\/em>, Switchback<\/em>, The Collagist<\/em>, and other journals. The recipient of scholarships and grants from USF, The Provincetown Fine Arts Workshop, Vermont Studio Center, and Kundiman, she was a longtime board member for The Bay Area Generations reading series. She has read at Quiet Lightning, LitQuake and The Racket, as well as other festivals in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n
