Our small, learner-centered classes provide an immersive, dynamic, French-only environment that will amaze you with how much\u2014and how quickly\u2014you\u2019ll progress.<\/p>\n<p>Our program emphasizes real-world communication skills and cultural understanding. Get ready to impress your friends and family, and to put your new language abilities to use on your next trip abroad!<\/p>\n<p>Many students complete their language requirement (FREN 220, French III) either on campus or through our Maymester programs in <strong>Dijon<\/strong> or <strong>Martinique<\/strong>. and writing through a fun, interactive, and supportive environment. The course is conducted entirely in French and uses a fully integrated multimedia program to create an engaging and immersive experience.<\/p>\n<p>The focus is on developing practical, real-world communication skills in a lively and interactive environment. Students explore topics such as holidays, food, travel, health, and modern technology while learning about Francophone cultures in regions including Quebec, West Africa, and beyond through authentic texts and multimedia resources.<\/p>\n<p>Class activities emphasize active participation and collaboration in pairs and small groups. Through the study of films, novels, short texts, music, comics, and audio programs, students continue to develop their speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills in French while engaging critically with cultural and social issues.<\/p>\n<p>Class discussions draw on authentic materials from diverse genres as well as on students\u2019 own perspectives and experiences.
