She specializes in qualitative research methods including interview protocol design, facilitation, coding, in-depth analysis, and writing. She has managed and assisted in many of ERI\u2019s Immigrant Inclusion and Racial Justice initiatives, spearheading research efforts such as The State of Immigrants in L.A. County (SOILA) and Leading with Hope: Supporting Latina Leaders for a Better California. In collaboration with her colleagues, she creates detailed presentations on ERI analysis, ensuring key findings resonate with partners across California. Beyond her primary focus, Cynthia has also contributed to research on movement building and climate justice\u2014still applying qualitative methods to support and contextualize ERI\u2019s quantitative work.<\/p>\n<p>As part of bringing research efforts to life, Cynthia is passionate about building meaningful partnerships that align with ERI\u2019s mission. She works with partners from local foundations, city and county governments, and advocacy organizations to foster collaboration and drive impactful change. She enjoys engaging with, learning from, and brainstorming alongside partners about how to best utilize research in pursuit of racial and social equity for people of color, immigrants, and low-income populations.<br \/>\nA Southeast L.A. native, Cynthia is deeply committed to amplifying the voices, experiences, and wisdom of immigrant communities and the organizations that support and advocate for them. Prior to joining ERI, she gained experience through internships and volunteer work with immigrant rights organizations and city government. She holds a master\u2019s degree in social work from the University of Washington and dual bachelor\u2019s degrees in psychology and women\u2019s &amp; gender studies from Bucknell University.
