Sponsored by the Economics Leadership Council, alumni working in data science held a panel discussion to share their experience in the field and provided career advice to aspiring undergraduate students. The panel was moderated by Dan Gildengorin ‘04, Data Scientist, Apple.
The MS AEE program held its annual alumni networking event in October 2023 at the USC hotel. Over 75 current master’s students attend the event and network with our alumni who are working in careers in data science and economic consulting and finishing their PhD in economics.
Our Women in Economics alumnae group hosted their signature-semiannual fall forum. Our panel discussion was moderated by Deborah Senior PhD ’95, Chair of Women in Economics.
Thanks to the suggestion of its leader and Chair, Romain Ranciere, the Department of Economics hosted its first PhD Alumni Conference on June 9th and 10th, 2023.

In their recent publication, Achieving Scale Collectively, published in the journal Econometrica, Vittorio and co-authors study the organization of production in informal clusters of small firms in Uganda, and how this helps them overcome barriers to technology adoption.
