Celebrating Student Discovery at the 2026 CURIE Event
On May 1st, the Department of Economics hosted its annual Celebration of Undergraduate Research in Economics (CURIE) at the USC Michelson Center, bringing together students, faculty, and guests for an engaging afternoon of scholarly exchange. Attendees explored a wide range of research topics presented by undergraduate students in a dynamic poster session format.
The event showcased the culmination of months of work from students enrolled in ECON 490 and 495, highlighting their original research and analytical skills. In addition to the poster presentations, graduating Easterlin Fellows from the Class of 2026 delivered individual presentations on their yearlong research projects, offering deeper insights into economic issues spanning policy, theory, and applied analysis.
Faculty and peers gathered to support and celebrate the achievements of these emerging scholars, with lunch and refreshments provided to encourage discussion and networking. The CURIE event continues to serve as a meaningful platform for students to share their academic accomplishments and engage with the broader economics community.
