Support includes tuition and a yearly stipend (the 26-27 rate will be <\/span>$47,936<span class=\"s1\">) funded by a combination of research assistantship (RA), teaching assistantship (TA), and, in some cases, fellowships.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the department provides PhD students in good standing the opportunity to apply for up to 2 travel awards of $1,500 each in order to present at conferences every academic year. It is important for researchers to stay curious and be willing to question their own and other\u2019s work in the pursuit of great science. If you have had the opportunity to conduct your own research, this would be a great time to tell us about it. Please contact your prospective advisor(s) to discuss your prior preparation for the PhD degree in Earth Sciences.
