Mancall<\/strong>\u00a0is a historian of early North America, the early modern Atlantic World, and Native American history. He has written five\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Peter-C.-Mancall\/e\/B001IXS33O\/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1\">books<\/a>, edited ten others, and has written for\u00a0<em>American Heritage<\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0<em>Chronicle of Higher Education<\/em>, as well as historical journals, and his work has been featured on NPR&#8217;s \u201cAll Things Considered\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/thedailyshow.cc.com\/videos\/mfgw9k\/peter-mancall\">The Daily Show with Jon Stewart<\/a>.\u201d Current projects include\u00a0<em>American Origins<\/em>, which will be volume one of the Oxford History of the United States, and\u00a0<em>Lord of Misrule: Thomas Morton and the Tragic Origins of New England<\/em>, which is under contract with Basic Books. In 2012 he delivered the inaugural Mellon Distinguished Lectures in the Humanities at the University of Pennsylvania; a revised version of his lectures will be published by the University of Pennsylvania Press in 2015.\u00a0 He is USC Distinguished Professor, Andrew W. He has written works on political, social, ethnic, and environmental history. He is the founding director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/icw\/\">Huntington-USC Institute on California and the West<\/a>. He is one of founding directors of the <a href=\"https:\/\/laserviceacademy.org\/\">Los Angeles Service Academy<\/a>, a high school outreach initiative that teaches high school students about the infrastructural networks of Southern Callifornia. He also directs the USC Libraries Collections Convergence Initiative. He specializes in connections between U.S. imperial expansion, Native sovereignty, technology, and the environment. Fraga\u2019s digital humanities research focuses on digital mapping and on scholarly uses of augmented reality.<\/p>\n<p>Fraga\u2019s book project,\u00a0<em>Ocean Fever: Steam Power,\u00a0Transpacific Trade, and American\u00a0Colonization of Puget Sound<\/em>, is under contract with Yale University Press for publication in the Lamar Series in Western History.<\/p>\n<p>Fraga is the project director for <a href=\"https:\/\/booksnake.app\/\">Booksnake<\/a>, a multidisciplinary experiment in mobilizing augmented reality as an interface for scholarly research.
