CRCC senior fellow Reuven Firestone teamed up with his wife Ruth Sohn for an article<\/a> in Jewish Journal<\/em><\/a> on Cairo’s Tahrir Square and what it has come to mean in Egypt post-Hosni Mubarak.<\/p>\n

Firestone and Sohn write:\n<\/p>\n

Tahrir Square has returned, for the time being, to its prerevolutionary function, but the revolution continues. It is a work in progress. In fact, it has only begun. We can see a three-way dance at this moment between Islamists, liberal activists and the military, but no single one is particularly unified…What we in this country tend to miss is that most Egyptians resonate in one way or another with each block. It seems clear to us is that no single one will become dominant in the first round. The test will be the jockeying that comes next.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
