Dr. Elda María Román Nominated for Pushcart Prize
Congratulations to Dr. Elda María Román for becoming a Pushcart nominee. She is being nominated in the prose category for her nonfiction piece “House of Silences.”
The Pushcart Prize honors poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction publications from literary magazines and small presses.
Dr. Román is the author of Race and Upward Mobility, which examines class dynamics in African American and Mexican American literature, television, and film from the 1940s-2000s.
Dr. Román joins Dr. Atia Sattar as the Consortium’s second Pushcart Nominee. Dr. Sattar is nominated in the poetry category for her poem “Empty.”
