Conference venue and hotels

CUNY 2015 will be held at the Midtown Los Angeles Radisson Hotel, which is immediately adjacent to the campus of the University of Southern California.

A block of rooms is being held for conference participants at the Midtown Radisson at a discounted rate of $169/night (plus tax). This is the most convenient hotel and the one that we recommend.

Rooms can be reserved at this rate from the Radisson website (http://www.radisson.com/)using the PAC Code SENTC, or by calling (800) 333-3333.

If you need to reserve for additional nights that are not covered by the block rate, please call the hotel directly at 213-748-4141.  You will be able to get the discounted rate for the conference nights, but will have to pay the regular rate for dates outside of the block period.  Please use the PAC Code SENTC.

The rooms at the Radisson are being held for us until Feb 19, 2015, so please reserve before that date.

In addition, a smaller block of rooms is also being held at the Sheraton in downtown Los Angeles (711 South Hope Street, 1-800-325-3535 or direct hotel phone number: 213-488-3500). The room rates are $189/night (plus tax) for single or double occupancy. The rates are higher for triple/quad occupancy; please inquire at the hotel.

These rooms are being held until Feb 16, 2015.

Please identify yourself as part of the "Southern California CUNY Conference" when making your reservation.  The Sheraton is easily accessible by public transportation from the conference site.

(Please note that the Sheraton is currently undergoing some renovations. We have been told that most of these should be done before CUNY starts, but we recommend that you ask the hotel about this directly if you have any concerns.)

Rooms are also held at the Vagabond Inn (3101 S. Figueroa St.) at the rate of $109.10/night (plus tax). The Vagabond Inn is within walking distance to the conference site. Please identify yourself as part of the "CUNY USC Linguistics Dept" group when making your reservation. Unfortunately the rooms being held at the special rate cannot be reserved using the hotel's on-line / web-based system.

These rooms are being held until Feb 18, 2015.

The cancellation policy at the Vagabond is stricter than some other places, so we recommend checking this with the hotel if you have any questions.

There are also many other hotel options in Los Angeles:

Click here for some that USC recommends for visitors, but please be aware that not all are accessible by public transportation. The USC campus (including the conference hotel which is right next to campus) is directly connected to downtown LA and to Culver City by the Expo Line of the LA Metro. (Additional information here)
