class=\"f--field f--description\">\n\n    \n  <p>Cognitive science is an interdisciplinary major that focuses on the mind and cognition from a variety of perspectives and approaches. \u00a0Cognitive science addresses questions and engages inquiry across the traditional disciplines of psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, linguistics, computer science, and anthropology.<\/p>\n<p>Cognitive science combines knowledge and methods of inquiry across these domains to address broad questions about cognition, including:<br \/>\n\u2022 How do organisms perceive, reason about, and act on their environment?<br \/>\n\u2022 How do organisms learn and acquire or generate new knowledge?<br \/>\n\u2022 Can intelligent behavior emerge from networks of organisms or entities?<br \/>\n\u2022 How is cognition shaped by the particular hardware that carries out the computations (e.g., the human brain in a human body, silicon chips in a computer, etc.)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n  \n\n
