\n \n Claudia Rankine\n\n <\/h3>\n \n \n
\n\n \n

Claudia Rankine is the author of five books of poetry, including\u00a0Citizen: An American Lyric<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Don\u2019t Let Me Be Lonely<\/i>;\u00a0three plays including\u00a0HELP<\/i>,<\/strong>\u00a0which premiered in March 2020 (The Shed, NYC), and\u00a0The White Card<\/i>, which premiered in February 2018 (ArtsEmerson\/ American Repertory Theater) and was published by Graywolf Press in 2019; as well as numerous video collaborations. Her recent collection of essays,\u00a0Just Us: An American Conversation<\/i>, was published by\u00a0Graywolf Press in 2020. She is also the co-editor of several anthologies including\u00a0The Racial Imaginary: Writers on Race in the Life of the Mind<\/i>. In 2016, Rankine co-founded The Racial Imaginary Institute (TRII). Among her numerous awards and honors, Rankine is the recipient of the Bobbitt National Prize for Poetry, the Poets & Writers\u2019 Jackson Poetry Prize, and fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Lannan Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, United States Artists, and the National Endowment of the Arts.\u00a0A former Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets, Claudia Rankine will join the NYU Creative Writing Program in Fall 2021. She lives in New Haven, CT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n <\/div>\n \n

\n \n Viet Thanh Nguyen\n\n <\/h3>\n \n \n
\n\n \n

Viet<\/span>\u00a0Thanh Nguyen\u2019s novel\u00a0The Sympathizer<\/i>\u00a0won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and numerous other awards. His most recent publication is the sequel to\u00a0The Sympathizer<\/i>,\u00a0The Committed<\/i>. His other books are a short story collection,\u00a0The Refugees; Nothing Ever Dies:\u00a0Viet<\/span>nam and the Memory of War<\/i>\u00a0(a finalist for the National Book Award in nonfiction and the National Book Critics Circle Award in General Nonfiction); and\u00a0Race and Resistance: Literature and Politics in Asian America<\/i>.\u00a0Viet<\/span>\u00a0Thanh Nguyen has also published\u00a0Chicken of the Sea<\/i>, a children\u2019s book written in collaboration with his six-year-old son, Ellison. Currently, he is a University Professor, the Aerol Arnold Chair of English, and a Professor of English, American Studies and Ethnicity, and Comparative Literature at the University of Southern California. A recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim and MacArthur Foundations, he is also a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times and the editor of\u00a0The Displaced: Refugee Writers on Refugee Lives<\/i>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n <\/div>\n \n

Maggie Nelson is the author of several acclaimed books of poetry and prose, many of which have become cult classics defying categorization. Her nonfiction titles include\u00a0On Freedom: Four Songs of Care and Constraint\u00a0<\/i>(Graywolf Press, 2021), the\u00a0New York Times<\/i>\u00a0bestseller and National Book Critics Circle Award winner\u00a0The Argonauts<\/i>\u00a0(2015),\u00a0The Art of Cruelty: A Reckoning<\/i>\u00a0(2011; a\u00a0New York Times<\/i>\u00a0Notable Book of the Year),\u00a0Bluets<\/i>\u00a0(2009; named by\u00a0Bookforum<\/i>\u00a0as one of the top 10 best books of the past 20 years),\u00a0The Red Parts\u00a0<\/i>(2007), and\u00a0Women, the New York School, and Other True Abstractions<\/i>\u00a0(2007). Her poetry titles include\u00a0Something Bright, Then Holes<\/i>\u00a0(2007) and\u00a0Jane: A Murder<\/i>\u00a0(2005; finalist for the PEN\/ Martha Albrand Art of the Memoir). She has been the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in Nonfiction, an NEA in Poetry, an Innovative Literature Fellowship from Creative Capital, an Arts Writers Fellowship from the Andy Warhol Foundation, and a MacArthur \u201cgenius\u201d Fellowship. Nicole Terez Dutton’s work has appeared in Callaloo<\/em>,\u00a0Ploughshares<\/em>,\u00a032 Poems<\/em>,\u00a0Indiana Review<\/em>\u00a0and Salt Hill Journal<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Nicole earned an MFA from Brown University and has received fellowships from the Frost Place, the Fine Arts Work Center, Bread Loaf Writers\u2019 Conference, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.\u00a0Her collection of poems,\u00a0If One Of Us Should Fall,\u00a0was selected as <\/em>the winner of the 2011 Cave Canem Poetry Prize. Arthur Sze is a poet, translator, and editor. David L. Ulin\u00a0is the author or editor of more than a dozen books, including\u00a0Sidewalking: Coming to Terms with Los Angeles<\/i>, shortlisted for the PEN\/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay, and\u00a0Writing Los Angeles: A Literary Anthology<\/i>, which won a California Book Award. His work has appeared in\u00a0Harper’s<\/i>,\u00a0The Atlantic<\/i>,\u00a0The New York Times<\/i>,\u00a0The Believer<\/i>,\u00a0The Yale Review<\/i>,\u00a0Virginia Quarterly Review<\/i>,\u00a0The Paris Review<\/i>,\u00a0Zyzzyva<\/i>, and\u00a0The Best American Essays 2020<\/i>.
