When emergencies occur at USC, a unified system is in place to handle them effectively, beginning with the Department of Public Safety (DPS). DPS will immediately coordinate with the proper internal\/external agencies (EH&#038;S, LAFD, LAPD, LA County HazMat) to respond and assist. various safety related classes, such as general lab safety, blood borne pathogens safety, radiation safety and X-ray diffraction safety.
