Assistant Director
Nicole Pompilio is the Assistant Director at the Center for the Political Future where she manages and oversees all internal and external events for USC students and the greater community. She works on event conception, government and community relations, and strategic planning to advance the goals of the Center for the Political Future. Nicole advises the Unruh Associates and VoteSC student organizations, as well as the student staff. Additionally she supports the Center through the Warschaw Lecture and Conference, the Climate Forward Conference, and the Young Women’s Leadership Conference.
Nicole’s interest in public service was sparked through her internship with Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell’s office, where she was enrolled in POSC 395. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from USC in 2015 majoring in History with a minor in Cinematic Arts, her educational emphasis was World War II propaganda films and their effects on the American people. She moved through the political landscape and went on to intern for San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, where she conducted policy research. Nicole attended the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University earning a Master of Public Service and Administration and chose the Bush School in particular for their emphasis on serving others. During her tenure, she worked with the City of Bryan, Texas measuring income inequality and economic mobility in the area, providing recommendations to the City and the local nonprofit partnership. She was the recipient of the George and Barbara Bush Fellowship and served as a non-voting board member of the local United Way. Through these experiences she learned the importance of bipartisanship and the power of local government to better their community.
After her graduate program, she worked at Texas A&M University as the advisor to the Graduate and Professional Student Government. Her role was to support students in their work with university administration to ensure that the needs of graduate and professional students are understood and considered during the policy making process. Nicole earned her Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management with an emphasis in Health and Human Service Policy in 2020 from The Bush School.
In her free time, Nicole enjoys film photography and reading biographies. She is interested in empowering students to educate themselves in political discourse, bridging partisan gaps, and continuing to Fight On!
