The USC Center for the Political Future (CPF) is proud to welcome Kevin S. Parikh, CEO and Chairman of the Avasant Group of companies and the Avasant Foundation, as a new member of its Board of Councilors.

“USC’s Center for the Political Future represents the minds who will someday help shape the future of American democracy,” said Parikh. “I look forward to collaborating with the Board of Councilors and students in advancing an open civil dialogue which depolarizes political agendas between partisan coalitions, focuses on the veracity and truth of the information around us, and finds common ground on issues for leaders and decision makers to promote good policy.”

“I believe these key tenets are the bedrock for a prosperous and just society, to create opportunities for businesses to thrive and develop solutions for national and global challenges,” Parikh continued. “I am excited to work with the Center and our future political leaders to further this narrative.”

Parikh joins existing CPF Board members: Kevin Beggs, Barbara Boxer, Ken Broad, Yar Chaikovsky, Lisa Korbatov, Jeff Polak, and Hope Warschaw.

“The Center is excited to welcome Kevin to our Board,” said CPF Director Bob Shrum. “The Board plays an integral role in our mission to transcend partisan divides and bring our students world class opportunities. Kevin’s insights will enrich our programming; his generosity will expand its reach and contribute to educating the next generation of citizens and leaders.”

“Kevin is a tremendous addition to the Board,” added CPF Co-Director Mike Murphy. “With his generous support, we can continue to promote civic dialogue at USC and beyond the university’s gates. We’re happy that Kevin will be an important part of the Center moving forward.”

CPF plans to expand the Board of Councilors to ten members by year end 2022 in order to help the Center become more financially sustainable, to grow its successful programs and implement new ones, to increase opportunities for students, and to better serve its mission to educate and train future generations of political leaders.

People interested in serving on the Board should consider joining one of CPF’s Center Leadership Circles and contacting CPF Executive Director Kamy Akhavan.
