With CAS, your transcripts, letters of recommendation, and any other documents required for each of your law school applications only need to be sent one time, to LSAC. All ABA-approved law school applications are available electronically through your CAS account as well, saving you time and effort. LSAC combines your documents with your LSAT score and forwards a full report to all the schools you apply to.\u201d (<\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsac.org\/applying-law-school\/jd-application-process\/credential-assembly-service-cas%20\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Source<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">)<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An added benefit of CAS is that law schools may choose to use CAS to find potential candidates that have not already applied to their programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsac.org\/applying-law-school\/jd-application-process\/credential-assembly-service-cas\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CAS overview<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsac.org\/lsat\/register-lsat\/lsat-cas-fees\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">LSAC and CAS fees<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><b> \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/b><b><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsac.org\/lsat\/register-lsat\/lsat-cas-fees\/fee-waivers-lsat-credential-assembly-service-cas\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">LSAT and CAS waivers <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">are available for those who qualify<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tips:<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Most law schools have rolling admission policies meaning the sooner you apply, the sooner you will probably receive a decision from the law school admissions department.\u00a0 At the very latest target applying by November 1 for the next academic year. Here is a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/education\/blogs\/law-admissions-lowdown\/articles\/what-rolling-admission-means-for-law-school-hopefuls\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>quick article<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on the rolling admissions process and the pros\/cons of applying asap.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Expect to receive admissions decisions anytime from December through late spring.\u202f Patience is necessary!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Complete financial aid applications, including the FAFSA, soon after January 1st (The earlier the better!)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Managing stress during this challenging time is critical. If your anxiety and stress surrounding the law school application process start to affect your day-to-day functioning, please do not hesitate to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/studenthealth.usc.edu\/workshops-single-session\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>utilize resources through the Engemann Center<\/strong>.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> They provide <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/studenthealth.usc.edu\/lets-talk-drop-in-schedule-for-students\/%20\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>targeted workshops <\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and are also available for one-on-one sessions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please know that acceptances AND rejections are part of this process- just like getting into undergrad.\u00a0 If you start receiving rejections, don\u2019t panic.\u202f Remember- law schools draw applicants from the waitlist until the beginning of the school year.\u202f Start talking to the law schools about their waitlist process, start thinking about back-up plans, gap years, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Certain law schools ask for a <strong>letter from the Dean\u2019s office regarding your standing as a student.<\/strong>\u00a0 Click <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/careerpathways\/pre-law\/deans-letter-of-student-standing\/\">here<\/a> <\/strong>for directions on how to obtain the letter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After you are accepted, CELEBRATE!\u00a0 And then start investigating financial aid, housing, etc.!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n  <\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n  \n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div\n  class=\"cc--component-container cc--featured-block image-left\"\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  >\n  <div class=\"c--component c--featured-block\"\n    \n      >\n\n    \n  <div class=\"text-image-container\">\n    <div class=\"text-container\">\n\n      \n                  \n<div class=\"f--field f--section-title\">\n\n    \n  <h2>\n          Waitlisting\n      <\/h2>\n\n\n<\/div>\n      \n                  \n<div class=\"f--field f--description\">\n\n    \n  <h2>Waitlists are a normal part of the law school application process.<\/h2>\n<p>Start thinking about alternate plans if you are waitlisted for your target school, but not rule out the chances you will be offered a spot at your target school eventually.<\/p>\n<p>Start exploring the cost of living, housing options, etc. at all viable law school choices to prepare for all potential scenarios.<\/p>\n<p>Letters of Continuing Interest may be beneficial for your application. This is a very common practice.<\/p>\n<p>The letter should express your continued desire to go to that school and provide updates, if any, to your application. Updates might include last semester&#8217;s coursework and grades, a new job or completed internship, additional community involvement, etc.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a current student and writing your LOCI the semester after you applied, please update your CAS account.
