Award recipients can use the scholarship to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel to conduct research on any topic related to contemporary Armenian Studies broadly defined. Research areas include, but are not limited to, language, cultural studies, literature, the arts, economics, anthropology, sociology, history, regional studies, environmental science, journalism, political science, and international relations.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Travel to participate in a variety of programs, such as conferences, courses, workshops, forums, internships, or any other meaningful activity that will enrich their understanding of the contemporary Armenian experience.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>How to Apply:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants must submit a 300-500 word statement of interest outlining the purpose of their travel.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>For research purposes:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The statement should describe the research question, the methodology (fieldwork, interviews, archival research, etc.), objectives, and timeline.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>For program participation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The statement should include details about the program, the organizing entity, and an explanation of how it will enhance the applicant\u2019s understanding of Armenia and the Armenian people.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A clear and itemized budget statement outlining costs\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A current curriculum vitae (CV) or resume<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A USC Completed Course Summary (available via OASIS through the myUSC portal)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One letter of recommendation from a faculty member (this should be sent directly by the faculty member to armenian@usc.edu, including the applicant\u2019s full name)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Eligibility:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full-time undergraduate students enrolled at USC<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students must be in good academic standing and making satisfactory progress toward completing their academic program<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Final candidates will be selected following an in-person interview<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Reporting<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the completion of the trip, award recipients will submit a report describing their travels and how receiving the scholarship aided their pursuit of research\/programming.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Deadline:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All application materials must be submitted by <\/span><b>11:59 PM on May 3, 2026<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>This scholarship is administered and granted by the Institute of Armenian Studies.
