Outstanding students from The Society of Trojan Archaeologists attended the annual Archaeology Garden Party hosted by the Archaeological Institute of America’s Los Angeles chapter. Additionally, USC AIA Scholarship winner, Maria Carolina Zensen, gave a short talk in which she shared her fieldwork experience in Belize under the guidance of Professor Eric Heller of USC Dornsife Anthropology.
“As an archaeology undergrad, the AIA Garden Party is one of my favorite events of the year! The LA Chapter of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) hosts multiple events throughout the year, creating a welcoming space for archaeology enthusiasts to meet over some good talks and good meals. During the party this past Sunday, we got to network with leading professors and academics from various fields. We were also informed about multiple fieldwork and scholarship opportunities. It was also a lovely place to get career advice from leading archaeologists. On top of good conversations with fascinating people, the desserts were sublime! I am already counting the days until the 2025 edition!” –Maria Carolina Zensen, Undergraduate Liaison for the AIA LA Chapter
