{"id":4,"date":"2022-11-02T18:09:55","date_gmt":"2022-11-02T18:09:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/aravind-asok\/?page_id=4"},"modified":"2024-12-13T15:05:39","modified_gmt":"2024-12-13T23:05:39","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/aravind-asok\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n  \n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div\n  class=\"cc--component-container cc--rich-text \"\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  >\n  <div class=\"c--component c--rich-text\"\n    \n      >\n\n    \n      \n<div class=\"f--field f--wysiwyg\">\n\n    \n  <div class=\"html-content\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I am currently a Professor in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/math.usc.edu\/\">Department of Mathematics<\/a>\u00a0at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/usc.edu\/\">University of Southern California<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Here is a link to our departmental algebra\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dornsife.usc.edu\/negron\/algebra-seminar\">seminar<\/a>; name notwithstanding, topics of interest range from algebraic geometry to algebra and homotopy theory; we are aiming to resume in-person meetings this semester.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">My research centers around using the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A%C2%B9_homotopy_theory\">Morel-Voevodsky A^1-homotopy theory<\/a>\u00a0to study problems in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rational_point\">arithmetic<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Projective_module\">algebra<\/a>. More recently, I have become interested in certain aspects of the history\/sociology of mathematics.
