Originally from China, Xiao obtained his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. His research interests are psycholinguistics and second-language acquisition. Specifically, he investigates the differences in cognitive patterns between first- and second-language processing and how these differences contribute to the difficulties of second-language acquisition.
