RSS – Really Simple Syndication

To become an informed writer, you will do well to keep abreast of current events and dialogues in news publications.  RSS feeds offer you streams of information, and many major contemporary news sources offer these free.  They are the updated streams from periodically updated sites, such as blogs and online news outlets.   Consider adding these to your daily reading by subscribing to a feed reader:

Bloglines (bloglines.com)
Pageflakes (pageflakes.com)
Google Reader (google.com/reader/view/)
Netvibes (netvibes.com)
My Yahoo (http://my.yahoo.com/)

Here are some useful feeds to begin with.  Follow the linked title for each one to find the feed.

Feed subscriptions are typically indicated on the page, though Firefox indicates feed availability with an orange icon in the address bar.
